About Us

You found us! We are not sure what you were looking for, but here you are. We are Bill and Carol Forward. We met in 1964, Bill working weekends in Yosemite at Badger Pass and Carol on a high school ski trip. Early on it became apparent that passions were shared for the outdoors, nature, and education. After graduating from college with degrees in Zoology and Biology respectively, earning credentials, over 60 years of teaching the Biological Sciences in Sacramento, CA were amassed

Concurrently with teaching, Bill had a photography business that supplemented the family income, and to this day the Forwards have never had a home without a darkroom. In retirement, nearly twenty five years ago, Bill became a fly fishing guide, writer and the Senior Editor of Sierra Fisherman Magazine… and taught Carol everything he knew about photography. Carol spent her time classifying and keenly honing her skills in photography by recording wildflowers in the Eastern Sierra.

Traveling to locations and photographing the wildlife of areas that were taught about was not only living a dream but quickly became yet another passion. This site is designed to visually share experiences. Here you will find African game drive highlights, with galleries featuring the Forwards’ imagery from the Galapagos, Amazon, China, and the USA soon to come. We hope you will enjoy the images as much as we do sharing them.
